Dating Columbia Cylinder record cabinet..

Post by fmblizz »

Looking for information on a Columbia record cabinet No.2. I would like to date this cabinet but there is not much information in the attached picture of this cabinet that was a page out of an early Graphophone brochure. I was told that this cabinet was actually made by Hawthorne & Sheble but sold by Columbia.

Thanks in advance

This similar cabinet is from Talking Machine World 1905.

Hi Blizz,
According to Fabrizio & Paul's "Gadgets and Gizmos" book it indicates 1901.

Great cabinet.

Thanks for the info John & James.. I appreciate the reply... I have all the reference books but never considered it a Gadget or Gizmo LOL. I see the reference on page #104 which stated that the cabinet was known as the Unique No. 2 cabinet.
