I have a Victrola 300 and need to take off the winding key. Can anyone tell me how to do this without breaking anything?

Simply wind it counter-clockwise. If the crank hasn't been removed in a long time, it may feel frozen, but a sharp blow with the heel of your hand should be all that's necessary to remove it.

Thank-you so much for your help. Thought that was the case but it didn't move at all when I tried that. Thanks again.

While you're at it, it's a good idea to put a drop or two of oil on the escutcheon hole, as recommended by Victor, and also a bit of some thicker lube (such as Vaseline or A+D ointment) on the threads of the winding key.
