Sometimes you just gotta tie one on the roof. Furniture blankets, a spiderweb of ratchet straps, taking the back roads and moving a little under the speed limit--it's what you gotta do sometimes. You can roll the windows down & do like the Dukes of Hazzard to get in the car--that way you can tie the cabinet on the roof that way.

Not saying it's safe or pleasant or even a good idea, but I moved an entire Panatrope lowboy with that little tiny old-style Corolla that way. I also moved an Edison A-200 and an old Silvertone radio by putting them on the back seat. (I took the A-200 apart first and put all the iron parts in the trunk.)

I remember someone that transported a Credenza from Union to somewhere in Iowa in the trunk of a Ford Taurus sedan. One third of the cabinet was inside the trunk with the balance hanging out. It was tied with one of the anchor points being the radio antenna! Someone reported that he was successfully home the next day.

A friend of mine transported a XVI L door in the back seat of a 2004 Corolla sedan. Lid, motor board and everything that could be taken off went in the trunk. Along with the albums.

A Crown Victoria sedan I would think be able to transport this XVIII. That’s if it’s a Fordor.

But the bid only option does worry me. And going through physical therapy last year, I’m not getting involved with large uprights. I’m glad for me it’s far away.
