For Sale: Rare phenix phonograph $400

Difficult to find French Phenix phonograph. The phenix is essentially the French equivalent to the the Busy Bee phonograph here in the states. At first glance it looks like a salon phonograph, however, the mandrel is a bit smaller, made to play phenix cylinders only. It also has a nice characteristic speed dial. Unfortunately, Phenix cylinders are like hens teeth, almost impossible to find, so this has only been a display item for me. Interesting for a collection if you like obscure formats. The motor runs quite nicely, it is fitted with a repro Columbia floating reproducer which seems to fit perfectly. Because I do not have a phenix cylinder, it is being sold "untested"
