I saw this picture of an early electronic instrument and it looks like there was at least one Edison C-250 recycled to make the cabinet for the prototype.
Couldn't get the picture to work nicely with my computer so it's the photo in this link -- 1934 Polytone prototype. Grilles and carved frieze sure look suspiciously familiar!

Yeah. By 1934 it was an obsolete piece of furniture, so why not slice it up and reuse it.
