Does anyone live in or near Springfield, Missouri?
I've looked in the local antique malls, flea markets and shops but find no phonographs and no shop keepers that know of anyone buying, selling, collecting or repairing them. Surely I'm not the only one.

Hi there, I am from Springfield originally and now live in Cape Girardeau Mo., my wife's family still lives there, we visit frequently and to my knowledge there are no other active collectors. I always search through the local malls there with little success. Drop me a note if you get over to Southeast Mo. Larry

Hi Larry,
Thanks for your reply. I'm starting to think you are right...Springfield, when it comes to antique phonographs and clocks, is like a desert. Nothing to be found.
I don't really get around as I'm disabled and have no transportation. Ebay is my only source for everything. You may have seen one of my other posts about my eBay - Edison horn disaster
I'm just a small collector. I have 3 different Edisons; a Standard model A (banner), a standard model D, a Home model D and a Columbia Model-B Eagle. I also have a single Victor tabletop VV-VI. I have about 200, pre 1910 Victor records and just 2 or 3 dozen assorted cylinders.
Right now I'm just hoping to get my Standard Model D serviced and get a horn or two. Otherwise I just try to enjoy the machines and records that I have and pick up new ones when I find a good deal.
I apologize D or the long message. Nice to meet you and maybe meet one of these days.

Re: Does anyone live in or near Springfield, Missouri?
Hi
I grew up in St Louis but went to college in Springfield back in the 80's. I must say that back then I ALWAYS found phonographs and records at the flea markets and antique stores I frequented. I have about 4 machines that I bought during my college years. Bought my first Credenza in an antique store in downtown Springfield and had it in my college apartment. Sorry to hear it's no longer the happy hunting ground it used to be. Keep in touch with Larry. He's a good guy. Got a beautiful Brunswick from him not long ago!

I’m in Memphis, not too terribly far from Springfield. Not much available locally, but I keep looking!

1923VictorFan, you're an easy one day drive from the Midwest Expo. You would love it! I'd suggest being there as early as possible. Hope to see you there. Any Questions?
