I thought that this is very interesting. I really do like the design and colours of the 'tube'.
I wonder though, the box mentions 'Two remarkable accessories', one of which is 'sound-box clip'. I can't think what a sound-box clip is - does any-one know ?
(The second interesting thing to me is that there is a hyphen with the word 'sound-box').

Re: HMV Motor Grease
Yes, I have a sound box clip. They are those Mercedes badge style clips that hook over the circumference of an Exhibition or No. 2 so theoretically you have a central pull knob to grab the soundbox by when using it.
They are a poor design and aren't really necessary quite obviously but worse than this, they can have a detrimental effect on the sound reproduction in the bargain!

Ahhhhhhhhh ! Thanks Steve. I have one of those too, as you say, on a Number 2 sound-box. Mystery solved !!Steve wrote: Thu Apr 13, 2023 2:18 am Yes, I have a sound box clip. I can't really see what you find " interesting " about the word sound-box having a hyphen -- that is the correct spelling -- it should always be presented that way as it is in effect two words used as a compound noun to singularly describe what it does !poodling around wrote: Wed Apr 12, 2023 4:28 pm I thought that this is very interesting. You seem to have a firm grasp of English grammar. The CLPGS might benefit from your wisdom:Dulcetto wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 4:24 pmI can't really see what you find " interesting " about the word sound-box having a hyphen -- that is the correct spelling -- it should always be presented that way as it is in effect two words used as a compound noun to singularly describe what it does !poodling around wrote: Wed Apr 12, 2023 4:28 pm I thought that this is very interesting. The CLPGS also needs to learn the difference between "principals" and "principles". Quote:....they are all based on the above principals....unquotepoodling around wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 4:51 pm
