Wayne NJ Show April 30th 2023

Post by Ripduf1 »

Hi. I want to remind everyone that the Wayne NJ show is coming up in 3 short weeks! I am not the owner of the show, but I am keen to support it and to that end I will be attending with two booth spaces. I will be bringing the items shown in the pictures attached Columbia BG w 24" Nickel horn, Oak Herzog Half barrel for cylinders, Victor Mahogany Speartip horn, Victor V with Oak Speartip, Victor II with Victor Smooth oak Horn. I will follow this up with a reply showing more fresh to market items that should convince you to attend the show. You will not have drive around hit 18 antique shops and not find anything - There will be plenty of machines, cabinets, horns and records in Wayne.

I will be accepting horns for drop off for dent removal/buffing at the show as well. This of course saves half the shipping costs for your horns.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the 30th!

Nice! I will be there as usual with my friend Phil Kolber (who started attending the show back when it was located in Bound Brook) and my two friends from the Czech Republic Filip Sir and Martin Mezjer.

John, are you accepting horns for repair at the Midwest Expo in Chicago as well?

Thanks, Jerry B.

Yeah. Phil mentioned that Lynn Bilton ran the show back in the 90s and that the show moved to its present location in Wayne in 1998. Phil was also very good friends with a record and phonograph dealer named Ken Woodbury who was a regular at the shows years ago. I think Ken Woodbury was also somewhat involved with running the shows as well.

I’m looking forward to it. The first shows I went to were in Bound Brook and then started going to Wayne, but this will be my first one since COVID.

I live nearby and never was able to attend the Wayne show once in my life. Hope this year will be different (and not come home empty handed)

When did they start having the Bound Brook shows? Phil mentioned that he started attending the shows in 1994 and that they were already well established by then. My mom also recall seeing an advertisement for one of the shows at a video store back in 1985 and that she and my father were considering attending it to see what the records and phonograph collecting hobby was like.
