Apollon 300 Japanese Phonograph
This is a very rare Japanese phonograph; Apollon 300. It has a wooden horn like Orthophonic Credenza.

That's pretty nifty; is that an HMV soundbox or a specifically Japanese one? I do not know if I recognize it or not.

No, it is a pot-metal orthophonic reproducer, which is supposed to have one of the best sounding reproducer, if it is serviced. It is kinda sad since it misses the original Apollon reproducer, but it is good enough.VanEpsFan1914 wrote: Sat Apr 22, 2023 11:52 am That's pretty nifty; is that an HMV soundbox or a specifically Japanese one? VERY cool. Bet the sound is impressive! You can really see the inspiration for Klipsch here and in Orthophonic horns.

The interesting difference between this horn and Credenza's is that the top opening is bigger than the lower opening in Apollon. I don't know how it makes the difference in sound compared to Credenza's.Watanabehi wrote: Sat Apr 22, 2023 11:46 am This is a very rare Japanese phonograph; Apollon 300.
