John, please review and see if this rings true.

Take-away points:
• Missing is the gray "leg" that connects to the gold ones and the screw it pivots on.
• Missing is a second screw that stops the doors from opening beyond being parallel to the sides.

Added observations:
• John's photo shows a slight manufacturing difference in the length of the gray leg and the alternate placement of the doorstop. They are still the same functions.
• I looked at mine again and can confirm that the pivot screw of the gray "leg" is close to the left side like Ken's, about an inch. Just use the existing hole and when making the missing leg.
• The spot at the 5" mark is a mystery, at this point ignore it.
• The wear mark could be from the lack of the one leg.
• When Ken make the new leg, the existing legs will need to be in the forward position against the "stop" screw.

I agree with JD. There was probably two stop dowels,, one to prevent the doors from opening too far and one (apparently snapped off) to restrict the doors from closing too far into the cabinet enabling you to more easily line up the locking mechanism.

Hi Blizz,
The stop for opening the door is the screw between the two brass "legs" as James points out. There is only one dowel to keep the door from going closing too far.

Ahhh missed that,, Thanks for setting me straight not that I will ever own such a fantastic cabinet but you never know, stranger things have happened.
