James.
The Othacoustic disk is interesting in itself.
But I did not know there was an official march of the Canadian Intelligence Corps. And this recording is of note in that it is conducted by the march's composer.

Odd that it's not on the official list of Marches

This may be why ....

"The contributions of the Intelligence Corps to the security of Canada, however, did not cease with the end of the Second World War. After the war and amalgamation in 1968, the corps became part of the new Canadian Forces Security Branch, and became involved in Signals Intelligence."

Re: You Want Rare and Obscure?
This might have been pressed either for the CBC music library or one of the independent radio stations in Canada. Orthacoustic was a trade name RCA used for NBC transcription recordings on which syndicated radio programs were sent to radio stations in the US. It was not a name used for consumer market records.

I am quite certain that your "might have" above is actually a "was." I am 99.9999999% positive that this disk came out of the CBC Vancouver music library when they dumped their analogue collection in its entirety.shoshani wrote: Mon May 22, 2023 12:49 am This might have been pressed either for the CBC music library ....
