Victor / Victrola paper cabinet labels...

Post by De Soto Frank »

How often did Victor revise the dates at the lower-left of the paper license label on the bottoms / inside of Victrola cabinets ?

Monthly? Semi-monthly ? Annually ?

I'm primarily interested in the 1906-1918 era....

Thanks !

When ever they ran out of labels. I've seen period models
from the early 20's with 1918 stickers from the first period
models. I also saw a 10-50 with an 8-30 paper label. They
must not have had the right labels... After price control was
not enforcable the label became less important.

Frank, the back label on my VV-XI (modelG), serial #370333G, is June 1917, which is fairly close to the build date for that serial no., AFAIK. My XI still has the skinny taper tube w/Exhibition, and the Data Book says the fat tone arm w/no. 2 came in Oct. '17 (IIRC), so mine must have been in or near the last batch before the changeover.
