Edison B-80

Post by Phono-Phan »

I recently bought an Edison B-80. It is missing the grill and the DD reproducer. These don't come up very often. It came with the needle reproducer adapter and the DD reproducer box. The box got chewed up pretty badly. My question is: Is this worth looking for the missing parts and get going again or better off being a donor for parts?

From that one picture, it looks like it would clean up nicely. They're not so common that I would part it out. I have an A-80 and love it.

I agree with Andreas. It is worth restoring since it is less common than other similar machines.

How bad is it? I almost went and bought that one but thought it looked a little too weary for my tastes.

It's not bad. I might put it on the shelf of "future projects" I have a DD reproducer to use so it is just the grill that I would need to find.

I have a grill that will fit if interested. It came on my B-80 and looked pretty good. I eventually found an original. I also have a few other parts if you needed anything else.

Yours even has the feet still attached. They’re often missing. Mine are. I really like my B-80 though and was able to find a matching cabinet.
