I love the Hayden Qt.. Some of their components were also forming the Shannon Four or Shannon Quartet, isn't it? For many years I was trying to get into the charm of that group, but I finally quitted, as I found them terribly boring, when compared with the Hayden or the Criterion.
It was something so incredibly surprising to learn that the Shannons transformed their dry performances into something so admirably happy as the Revelers/Singing Sophomores/Merrymakers style, only with the addition and tuition of Frank Black. I love those and have several dozens of their records.
