A Museum for Caruso in Naples

Post by CarlosV »

Article culled from yesterday's local newspaper issue, about the opening of a museum in Naples dedicated to their famous native son. It displays some of his scene costumes, highlighting the clown used in Pagliacci. Certainly worth a visit for those lovers of the bel canto touring Italy.

I wonder whether this will replace or augment the existing museum www.casamuseoenricocaruso.it?

The other existing museum at the Villa Bellosguardo, Caruso's former country estate in Tuscany, looks very impressive on the website www.villacaruso.it, but I spotted this glaring historical error :

"America heard for the first time the ten songs recorded for Victor in New York." Really?

Surely an Italian museum should know that the famous ten songs were recorded for G&T in Milan.
