Winter project ! Ionic mahogany Monarch senior

Wednesday was our lucky day!! We found (and bought…) this beautiful machine (without horn and reproducer). The mahogany cabinet is in excellent condition except for the cover hinges.

The logo (hardly readable) is from the compagnie française du gramophone with the angel.
Serial number is 133 so, if my info is right, it should have been manufactured around 1908.

The motor was not in working order as the previous owner tried to change the governor springs with pieces of metal (from a drink can…) and totally wrong screws. The original gearing wheel has been changed and the new one didn’t work when properly installed. I succeed to install this gear upside down so the motor works but I don’t want to wing fully the springs as I’m afraid the gear can slide down and be damaged by the spring wheel.
At best, I should look for another gear and, may be, a governor.Do you know where to find these parts?

Other than that, it needs TLC, a brake pad, hinges and (maybe) a hold on screw on top of the spindle.

If you're looking for an early G & T Morning Glory horn of the correct and larger size (24") I have a spare I can sell you. It needs stripping and repainting but they rarely turn up for sale. I presume you already know that's a later horn you've currently put on your machine and it looks like the smaller MG horn in the photo? You say you bought it without a horn so you already know its not the original one for it.

Steve, I already have a larger MG horn waiting for being stripped and repainted…
I have two questions:
- How many teethes the governor gear drive should have and where can I find a new one (in Europe if possible)?
- What’s the length of the governor springs?
