Thanks for the reply Mark. But the holes don't line up with that brake with the holes that are on the motor board. A local collector friend found one in his parts that fits the holes.

Very interesting! Glad you found the right brake!

What is the serial number of your 8-7?

Here is a case where the Victor documents are sometimes misleading. The “where used” column in the chart I posted says that the other brake type was used on some incarnation on the 8-7. There may be another part entry that also lists the 8-7. The serial number is needed to fully determine the fit (unless Victor made and error in the listings) Victor supplied loose-leaf parts breakdown sheets to their dealers. They were regularly updated as new versions of existing machines or new models were introduced. The sheets are referenced to the model and serial number range. A second set of sheets lists the part numbers sequentially where the dealer could find the price and check the part details.

Here is a brake assembly like the one you needed. Have others seen this used on machines in their collections?

Mark,
Thanks for the information. The serial number of this 8-7 is 820. I believe the Victor Data Book shows about 2000 made. It's strange that the two listings on Ebay for this style brake has missing springs on all but one of them.
