This reproducer came with a gorgeous early drawer model Edison Concert Phonograph that I purchased many years ago from the original family along with more than forty near pristine Edison Concert cylinders. I've maintained a white knuckle grip on this reproducer for all these years but I'm gradually downsizing my collection. This reproducer has most of its nice original green tint remaining on the reproducer top. The stylus on magnification appears to be in excellent condition as well. I believe that this reproducer was never actually used.

So Doug, what's the difference between this and the late model Hs that also have the little tail bit on the end of the stlyus bar to limit lateral movement? Any functional difference, if you mind me asking? Never seen one of these!

The Model-J reproducers were part of the Edison Concert Amberol Kit used to convert Concert machines from 5” cylinders to standard size blue amberol cylinders. The Edison factory determined that a standard H reproducer when used on a horizontal carriage had to heavy of a tail weight. That’s why the J was developed with a lighter tail weight than the H.
There is also a Model-J 2-min reproducer for playing 5” brown wax cylinders on a Concert machine.
