Hi all
I have just started work on the a/m motor and am being carefull about taking it apart as it slightly different to other similar age HMV s that I ve worked on.
I have the drums off the main cast frame and the front cover off the first drum exposing the mainspring but I can't see how to seperate the two drums. It looks like a friction fit cover on the back of the second drum but I don't want to force it justvin case I m wrong.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the other cover is a press fit also, like the cover you have already removed.

Tap on the end of the shaft, on the opposite side, with a mallet, (or a hunk of wood), and it will pop off the cover. If the "tap" doesn't do it, then upgrade to a "TAP".

Thanks for the information, sorted eventually.
I thought it might be helpful to others to show the way the two drums disassemble and the main parts cleaned. The second picture shows the two drum apart.
