Thought I'd share an interesting tidbit that came on a brand new VV1-70 I bought on ebay a few years ago.
The machine was in its kinda damaged shipping crate.
Inside the machine, wrapped around the speed control, was this tag.
Maybe I'll post an "unboxing" video or something eventually.

Now, if only it were true! Even after introduction of electrical recording, Victor continued the "claim 78, actually record at 75 or 76" song and dance for several more years, which encompassed those in which the 1-70 was in the catalogue.
