Hello, I am new here and have a question. I recently bought this Lark portable machine. After spending time online, I can't find anything about this particular gramophone. Does anyone know anything about this portable? Thanks

I regret that I can't help with any further information about your gramophone.

How-ever, I do have a 'Lark' sound-box and wonder if your gramophone and my sound-box might have been made by the same company.

Incidentally, the sound-box has one of the largest aluminium diaphragms I have ever seen.

Any-way, here is a photo in the hope that it can help to identify your gramophone if they are connected.

Hardly the first portable as noted in the above link. Perhaps they meant to say one of the first.

Here's the earliest mention of the Lark that I've found so far, 1924.

Wow, Thanks. I never knew that Lark has been around that long:). For the sound box, Mine is completely different. There is no mention of lark on it or any other company for that matter.

I have a Cole & Dunas Lark portable record player that is missing the sound box or reproducer. If anybody has one for sale I would appreciate the opportunity. The model I have has a guarantee with the number 2719 on it. It is in great shape and I have never seen anything like it. I am assuming it is a Deluxe model.
