Is the motor for the 20" model the same as the smaller disc size ones?

Interesting modification but done at some later time. The discs show up occasionally—I have a 15-¾” Olympia which uses very similar discs and is one of the Otto brands with minor changes produced due to repeated patent lawsuits.

Posting this photos for emerson:

Not sure if this is the same motor or not? This one is out of an upright model.

Thanks to a TMF member, I was able to get an original Otto motor for this music box. Does anyone know of a supplier for the small butterfly governor springs? One on the motor is shot. The wire is about .008" and the diameter of the coils are around .175 Overall length is about ⅝" Thanks for any help.

Ken,

Try Nancy Fratti: [email protected]

If she doesn't have them, there's a good possibility she can lead you to a source. As we get older, music box restorers are slipping away. Al Choffnes died last week. There may be only 2 or 3 qualified experts left in the U.S.

Thanks for the information. I forgot about Nancy. I always enjoyed seeing Al at the Union Show. We sure did loose another treasure.
