Triumph B Repeater Question

I'm in the process of locating and purchasing a repeater for my 2-minute Triumph B. It's just kind of a neat novelty and I have 20 machines so it would be used as such.

The rail plate has two screw holes at the appropriate 3 inch distance and still has the outline of the previously installed repeater bracket, but does not have a slot in the rail for the leather repeater buffer. Does that indicate these holes were drilled at some point after manufacture for a post-delivery installation? Were any machines made without the slot in the rail? I'm trying to remain authentic on this machine.

Machines that were sold from the factory with the Model D Repeater (very, very few other than coin-ops) had the buffer in the straight-edge.

However, the Model D Repeater was available separately (a dealer could install it for free), and a good number of these devices were fitted to machines lacking the leather buffer. It's perfectly acceptable unless it's a coin-op.

Thanks kindly, George. This had a repeater on it for a long time, but was removed for whatever reason. I have sourced a repeater and it is in shipping now. I am primarily a Triumph collector but had none with repeaters, so here goes. It really looks like a fun little gadget and hopefully the setup will go well. I'll post my progress.

In my opinion, a Triumph, coin-op, or electrically-driven machine are the only practical applications for the Model D Repeater. A Home, with its single mainspring, really doesn't warrant a repeater (although I've seen many of them!).

I just finished discussing that same topic with someone else. I have a Home combo that can barely run itself, much less a repeater. And the Triumph motor feels like it could take you around the block. I'm sure I will have setup questions so I hope you don't mind if I ask them here. Thanks again. Dan
