Setting up my new Triumph Repeater

I finally found a Triumph Repeater and am installing it on a Model B 2 minute with factory or dealer screw holes. If anybody is ever wanting a challenge, get one of these. Endless hours of slow progress. I have gotten it to function a couple of times, but mostly it just locks up when the arm goes to pick it up.

But, first things first... I can only catch about half of the repeater drive gear when it is mounted. I see images of other repeaters that either have the drive gear flipped around or they do NOT have the small spacer to the left of it at all. This part may have come from a Home Model and maybe that changes the need for this. Any thoughts?

And once that is clarified and I can align the gears I have one more question: What is the proper way to set the height of the lift arm? I have watched videos and pics but can't seem to just find the clear answer. Thanks much.

A picture may help.

Here is a Triumph A (similar to your B) with a D-repeater installed, and set up for excellent function. Note that it does not have a spacer to the left of the gear. You can also look at where the arm is placed to get a good ideal of how to set up yours.

I believe that spacer is used when placed on an Edison Home - See following picture of an Edison Home with a D-Repeater.

Same here, my Triumph B has no spacer, Home A has a spacer.

Thanks both, so much. It is working GREAT!!! In my case, I took every part down to metal, had to do a little grinding on the repeater frame so the end adjuster didn't rub. I cleaned and polished every part. Put it together without the spacer, adjusted it with your very helpful post and it is killin it. Very fun to watch. (I already made a video which I will post!)

Your photos were invaluable. Subscribing to your youtube. I played with it tonight and the repeater worked great. Didn't even skip once that I know of. But I'm using just a hose tube on the reproducer. The machine has a cygnet but it doesn't want to repeat with it on. And with a trumpet horn on it, the repeater won't catch. So, what is the idea to get the cygnet working?? Basically no weight and it will work, or does it want weight, which would mean some other adjustment?

I’ve got a cygnet on my Edison home and I use the adjuster on the crane to decrease the weight tension as much as possible. When I get it just right it works.

I believe* that I had my Home repeater set up with a Tiz-It connector that slips inside the base of my cygnet horn. The connector can freely "telescope" in and out of the horn, allowing the repeater to function.

*Been a few years since I had it set up. I know I used a telescoping connector, and I think it was a Tiz-It.
