Edisonic Beethoven on eBay BUT... :-(

Post by phonophan79 »

Edisonic Beethoven on eBay BUT ... too bad it's been painted. :-( Kinda looks like one of the Edison LP models now.

I'm about 35 mi north of Owasso visiting my daughter. I wrote the seller to ask if the cabinet had been painted, the pics were dark and I wanted to be sure. The seller wrote back that they had done research and found that some had been painted at the factory so it was original. I doubted that so did not write back. Anybody heard that anywhere?

I have never heard of the Edison factory painting their machines but anything is possible. I doubt though that they would have painted around the decal in that fashion. One would think that they would have applied the transfer after painting!
Looks like it's missing the lower record dividers as well as the grille cloth.

I doubt any factory ever painted their machines, at least not a flat dark color like that. Maybe lacquered, but not painted. I also can't believe that any phonograph company would color around the decal like that. It would be interesting to find out where the seller got the information from.

This machine recently closed with no bids and has been re-listed. What I don't understand is why they upped the BIN price from $950.00 to $1,050.00.
Perhaps someone can explain the seller's reasoning for this???

BTW, I inadvertently posted this earlier a guest(I was wondering why it was asking me a question to see if I was a bot!), so if it appears, disregard...............
