Standard A “Gaskets”?

Post by mrbechet »

Finally removed the motor on my Standard A to find these between the motor and the bottom of the bedplate. Are these “gaskets” surrounding the three bolt holes supposed to be there?

Thanks!

Yes, they are the perished remains of, not really what I would call gaskets, but rubber washers to help insulate the motor from the bedplate.

There should certainly be something of use here... https://www.mcmaster.com/products/rubber-washers/
Or, at a local, excellent hardware store, if you're lucky enough to have one these days.

Look for washers that are maybe ⅛" thick.
