Happy New Year All!
A short video of a pair of 1927 Victor First-Style changer saluting the New Year and a New Life now that the pot-metal has been replaced. Installation of the new parts from Sound Investments makes the restoration of these marvels relatively easy. Pictured is a 10-50 Orthophonic with a 12” record and a 10-70 Electrola with a 10” record. I meant this to be a mechanical demonstration, the sound you hear is coming from the acoustic soundbox on the 10-50 and is unamplified. They sound much better attached to the large Orthophonic horn or 6” cone speaker! To make the video I left off the lift pad which is responsible for rejecting the record from the lift ring. Otherwise the records would have ended up on the floor! The lift pad works perfectly when there is a reject drawer to catch them!
