Found: Edison Concert 5" Cylinder

Post by danohallaron »

I'm getting oh so close to having my Concert project finished! Concert-specific parts are so hard to find, I thought for sure I'd end up shelving it for need of a part. But NO, all is well, thanks to a good top end and so much sharing with the Triumph platform, of which I have lots and lots.

Top end, ready to go. Did a little adjusting on the feed screw and it runs forward and backwards all day. Bottom end runs so long and smooth on a spin it hardly needs a spring, but spring is cleaned and lubed and runs great. Cabinet, motorboard and incidentals, all covered. I have my strobe ready to set to 160 rpm as soon as I wrap it up. BUT, after all that, I have NO cylinder to play.

If anybody has one they can part with, I'd be happy to pay a fair price. Willing to work with a repro or even less than perfect. Prefer a song over gab, but not going to be particular.

There are a few companies making repro cylinders in both wax & plastic. This may be preferable to an original fragile cylinder. There is an excellent company in UK that makes a few selections - unfortunately out of stock since a long time! The plastic ones are exellent!

I would love to have a plastic one. I have located one, through this forum. I am looking for any others out there.
