Rare EARLY 10 inch SINGLE-SIDED TONE TEST "Pitch Pipe" Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph Record
$150 each OBO
The earliest Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph dealers were issued single-sided TUNING TEST DIAMOND DISC records. These records were intended to be used along with a tuning fork or a pitch pipe to set the proper playing speed on Edison Diamond Disc phonographs in their store. The dealer would play this record then strike an appropriate tuning fork (or use an appropriate pitch pipe) and then adjust the turntable speed on their Edison Diamond Disc phonographs until the tone of the record matched the tone of the tuning fork or pitch pipe. This way the phonograph would be playing for customers at the Edison factory recommended speed.
Edison "jobber" Diamond Disc records are quite uncommon and I have 2 of the same matrix number to offer:
a) Matrix 3342-B-7, E, light scuffs (Images 7214 and 7215)
b) Matrix3342-B-7, E-, light scuffs (Images 7212 and 7213)
