A Problem Posting/Replying on the Forum.

Post by JerryVan »

Judging by the duplicate replies that a lot of people are making, you're having the same issue that I am.

The error message leads you to believe your post did not go through, so you enter it again... and again. Rest assured, that even though you get the error message, your posting WILL appear on the forum.

Thanks for the heads-up. That explains all those duplicate messages I keep seeing!

It happens to me, too. I assumed that the problem was limited to me because of the extreme latency I sometimes experience with the site when connecting from BC in Canada.

I have to go back and proof read everything I post multiple times over a period of days and make corrections because of my dyslexia so I have usually caught and deleted my duplicate posts right away.

If you post a duplicate, there is a delete button to get rid of it.

A work around for the problem is this-- works for me anyway:

1. Before clicking the Submit button, copy all the text in your post to Notepad or equivalent in case something goes wrong. And then click on the Submit button.

2. Ignore the Error message you might be taken to and click the back button on your browser. This will take you back to the page as it was before you submitted it. Do not succumb to the temptation to re-click Submit again.

3. Click on the Board Index link near the top of the page or any of the other links in that line. Click the refresh button on your browser.

4. Navigate back to the thread you were adding to or starting--fastest way is click the Your Posts button up in the top right corner. Your new post should be at the top of the list of your posts.

And if you accidentally post duplicate messages, I'd recommend deleting them, if possible.

Having received the same error message yesterday, I had to do exactly that.
