Question -External horn phonograph

I recently purchased a busy bee grand model 7. It is the first machine I have with a large external horn. The question is when not in use is the horn kept on the machine ? It looks / feels sturdy but I don’t want to find it on the floor one morning. Wondering what is the usual practice. I tried googling it I only get “ how to remove internal horn”. Thanks in advance for any help.
