Early Marian Anderson recording
While sorting through a batch of records I've had for many years, I came across this one, and found it particularly intriguing; I've never known of a pre-electric recording of Marian Anderson. Actually, I've never known of a recording of her from before the late 1930's. (Judging by the catalogue number, it seems this one dates from 1925.) I imagine this must have been very early in her career. Does anyone know of other records of hers from this era?

Re: Early Marian Anderson recording
According to DAHR, these two sides were recorded in late December 1924; the record was issued in July 1925 and deleted in 1926. From all that, I'd guess it's something of a rarity.

Yes I was surprised to encounter Marion Anderson on acoustics also. These were made while still in her twenties, but by the time she really became a star of international fame she was already in her forties. It’s very enjoyable to hear her early records though.
