“On This Day in the History of Recorded Sound…”

May 31, 1898: Thomas A. Edison was granted a U.S. patent (No.604,740) for a “Governor for Motors.” This device would become the motor for the Edison “Home” Phonograph, in production with minor changes until 1913.

I’m getting one of similar vintage coming soon! This will be my first Edison machine pre-1902! June is gonna be awesome with that and the new ME-TV Toons channel!
