Plastic Phonograph Needles

I would have thought that any type of plastic would be too soft to transfer the sound waves sufficiently from the record to the reproducer.

Maybe an uncooked piece of spaghetti sharpened just right would work better _ for softer tones, just cook it a little bit.

Actually, uncooked pasta does work!
I'd tried this before but only just now made this hasty video:

Regular diameter spaghetti made with hard semolina wheat flour works best.
Whole wheat pasta breaks down too soon.
Angel hair pasta would make a softer tone.
Soft dynamics and unworn record grooves work best.

I would never use a plastic needle. That sounds awful.
