The D T Bohon Company of Kentucky
The D T Bohon Company of Kentucky
I was wondering if anybody might know of who made the Phonographs for the D T Bohon Company of Kentucky..They were a mail order house who put their name on things much like Sears did in the day.

Re: The D T Bohon Company of Kentucky
I'm from Kentucky and I've heard of Bohon (I had a college buddy from Harrodsburg), but I'm not familiar with their phonograph line. Bohon was also a hardware and furniture store downtown. Will definitely keep my eyes peeled for anything on the subject. Do you have a Bohon phonograph? Have you tried the Mercer County Public Library or the Historical Society for any crumbs of info?

Hello, I have a Bohon's perfectone floor model phonograph myself. I am interested in anything you can find out about this machine. I was wondering if you could send me a couple of pictures of your machine so I can compare it with mine. the storage compartment on mine is just a large empty cabinet with no shelves for the records, it has doors, but nothing else. I was wondering if yours is the same. also, I have replacement springs that will fit your motor. I found some almost identical 3" drums with the exact same springs in them. I had to purchase 20 sets of the springs or they wouldn't sell me any! so, If you need a set, I can make you a deal! email [email protected] with the pics and I will reply to you with some pics of my machine so you can compare it to yours. Thanks, Chuck

My Father-in-law has one also in almost perfect condition,it plays beautifully has over a hundred records with it....I tracked the manufacturer to Chicago, IL. and at that time the D.T. Bohon company was doing some bad business and was getting checked into by the BBB and by the time they finished looking into it they had switched the name to the Tone-O-Graph so mot too many have the name bearing D.T. Bohon that I know of as yet......

I have one of these that is in very good condition and working order. It has the D.T. Bohon Perfectone brass label on it. It is the floor model with the lid that lifts up and doors in front with shelving. I am curious as to what the value of this may be. Do you have any idea. I am interested in selling it. Don't have the space for it and I think someone would get a lot more use and pleasure out of it than I am able to.
