Serial Number on Columbia Graphophone
Hi, I’m new to the forum, and I just bought a Columbia Q type Graphophone. I’ve been trying to date it but I can’t find a serial number list anywhere. Can anybody help? The serial number is 898512. Thanks for reading!

Re: Serial Number on Columbia Graphophone
Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
There are several versions of the Q model. According to the serial number you have passed, it corresponds to the second style, introduced in 1904. The range of this style starts at number 803,157 and ends with number 1,065,180.
I recommend the book "Columbia Phonograph Companion Volume I" by Howard Hazelcorn. Perhaps the best book on COLUMBIA GRAPHOPHONE.
I hope I have helped you.
