The Morrissey Repeater & Informtion Sought About It

I recently bought this Morrissey repeating attachment which came without any information as to which phonograph it was originally used with and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these. Looking through the Nov, and Dec. 1906 and Jan. 1907 issues of The Talking Machine World (These periodicals are unbelievably available to members of The Antique Phonograph Society at its' website) I found display ads for this repeater offering a model for the Edison Home phonograph at $5.00 and for the Triumph at $6.00. Also, with the help of Allen Koenigsberg's The Patent History of the Phonograph, I located the patent for this device ( applied for June 16, 1903 and granted Sept. 18, 1906) being assigned to The Rosenfield Manufacturing Company of New York.
I have all the models of the Home and Triumph phonographs from this time and, for various reasons, it will not work on any of them. It does, however, mount on the Edison Concert and works beautifully but required me to make a mount that clamps onto the carriage for the lift lever to attach to.
If anyone has any information about this repeater or any comments, I would be really happy to hear anything about this. Also, if anyone has any questions about this repeater, please feel free to contact me.

I have a an Edison Home with a model D repeater and also a Triumph. I LOVE these gadgets but also find the Model Ds barely work. The machine barely has enough power to do the lifting at the end. They’ll work great with no horn attached though. I’ve even tried a well hung cygnet horn in both, so the hanging tension could be reduced to a minimum. So so luck with this. Does your repeater suffer from similar issues? These devices are SO cool. Thanks for posting the video!

Because the Morrissey repeater has the lifting action way up front, there is a greater leverage (distance from lift cam to the carriage shaft) and consequently has no problem lifting the carriage. I too have a Model D repeater on a Edison Home and I know what you mean about the lifting. I have my Home with a case mounted medium morning glory horn and the repeater works alright with that. Of course I don't think any repeater can lift a 14" or any reproducer mounted horn.
