Some neat Victor advertising pamphlets

Post by beaumonde »

I've finally properly scanned these (I have a few more, plus loads of "New Victor Records" issues), and wanted to share them with other Forum members.

I've also scanned "A Musical Galaxy", but it is slightly too large (7.8 MB) to post here. I have uploaded it to mediafire, so here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?ty9pxbm47i3th [to those who have already downloaded this one -- as of late-afternoon on 4/2/11 -- I have substituted a revised scan to include the last page, which I had unwittingly omitted before]

These are great!!! " Did you ever stop to thing that pleasure is a duty?" I may adopt that as my slogan. Those are wonderful scans. The Canadian version of the summer one is quite different!
The Edward Buk Ulreich illustrations are fascinating.

Adam, these are great - personal favourite of mine is the summer one - the colors and graphics are lovely. I have a Victor Christmas 1927 advertising leaflet which I can post later on this thread so that it is together with the others. Thanks for posting these.

Here is a scan of the christmas 1927 Victor advertising pamphlet. Its an odd size and so a bit difficult to scan the open out part - as a compromise I have scanned it opened out in three sections with a generous overlap.

Adam, thanks so much for the great scans!

I tried the MediaFire link, but it just takes me to a page to sign up for an account; and when I'd done that, just to my own account. How do I get to your scan?

Clay, I just checked, and for some reason the file is no longer there!

I will try to remember this evening when I get home from work to re-upload it. I know it was there before, as Jim was able to download it and comment on the lush illustrations.

Sorry if anyone else has has difficulties with that one.

Okay, Clay (and others), try the link now -- I've re-uploaded "A Musical Galaxy"...
