SOLD: Restored Edison Home phonograph model A $175

Post by pughphonos »

FOR PICKUP ONLY OR HANDOFF SOMEWHERE AGREED IN METRO CHICAGO. My first cylinder phonograph restoration; learned a lot in the process. Cabinet sanded and restored with my own formula to approximate the original green oak appearance; a replacement banner decal (from Eduardo) has been applied.

On the top works have used decals (Edison trademark) and gold .07 mm pens to restore pinstriping.

Runs strong and evenly. New leather belt included. Does not include crank, reproducers, horn, or crane.

The quartersawn oak cabinet front panel is especially attractive. Unfortunately the front sustained damage from a previous owner and there is a surface split in the wood (to left of the banner label). The break does not extend all the way through the wood but there is a surface section that has lifted--which might be reparable by inserting glue beneath the lift and clamping the area while it dries. Such work is probably easy for some, but exceed the skill sets and workbench tools I currently have.

PM me and we'll negotiate.

Mindy P.

Decided to pull this from the listing here (no bites here or on Craigslist) and have made a gift of it to a family friend.
