interesting ebay auction - a big collection

Post by brianu »

starting price of 23k for about 90 machines...

interesting, but a list of what's actually included would be helpful.

If its for 90 machines I guess its everything you can see in the photos. Wow - someone either got bored or hit hard times. I hope they all find good new homes.

I didn't see this link provided (other than in the Ebay listing), so I thought I'd include it (if you want to see pics of the phonographs). :rose:

Maybe the person selling isn't the one who did the collecting. You'd think someone who amassed such a variety of machines would be able to spell Pathé' correctly.

I am surprised that someone did not buy it. that would be around 255 bucks per machine. The link to the photos shows some really decent stuff in that collection. There is also a Huge 3 ½ foot Nipper in one of the photos, that looks like it could be an original. Those big nippers like that were only issued in limited numbers and displayed at Exhibitions and World's fairs by Victor. That Nipper alone could be worth at least a few grand. Maybe someone made a deal off line with the seller, and we won't see this one relisted. Just a hunch. There are upright Amberolas some Amberola V's and some decent external horn machines as well.

I wonder if these will show up at the Union show in June.
