New Phonograph:
Finally got a chance to clean and service this Sears Silverstone. After reading many posts on this forum on how to properly clean the wood without damaging the original finish its finally done. Now that I got almost all the dirt and smell out of it, I just need to rebuild the reproducer and find the cloth for the front. Thanks to everyone for posting so much information, it's extremely helpful to new collectors like me.

Thank you I was very lucky to find it. The finish is in great shape and it had the adapter to play Pathé records too. It was just so dirty.

VERY nice! I have a mahogany Victrola needing cleaning. I was just lacking the inspiration to get started. Erich

Re: New Phonograph:
I used GOJO none pumice to clean it up. I forgot to put newspaper underneath and made a mess on the floor. I let it soak for a while and then gently passed 0000 steel wool with the grain to finish it up. The GOJO looked like chocolate syrup! I really enjoyed cleaning it and afterwards I really liked the way it turned out. Good luck with your Victor.
