Fireside date?

Post by Garjen127 »

I know the Edison serial number data ends in 1908, but is there any way to date my new Model A fireside? I'm just really curious the know when it was made/shipped. the serial number is 89162.

The Model A Fireside was introduced in July 1909. By the time the Model B appeared in October 1912, serial numbering had reached approximately 100,000. Running the numbers puts #89162 at May, 1912, so (allowing for production variables) you'd probably be safe in saying spring/summer 1912 for your example.
