QRS Phonograph

After the label was revived by the Cova Recording Corporation in early 1930, the records were pressed by an unknown company. The Cova QRS records were intended to be a budget label, and the quality of them is notoriously bad.

Thanks for the history snippet, Steve. The records I have are probably issued by this Cova Corp, as they sound bad, certainly worse than Gennetts, although I did not see any identification other than the QRS on the labels.

Phonograph arrived today. However, the rubber gasket for the sound box deteriorated (no surprise) will need to buy a new one. Motor, runs and it winds up.

The tone arm is a bit stiff, so I removed it, and sprayed some WD-40 to clean it up. Put it back, and put some oil on it, and mover the arm back a fourth. To help it move smoother.

You'll need a QRS disc for it now.

And your record is not the run of the mill variety.
My only QRS is "The Duck Yas Yas Yas" by Stump Johnson.
