Four months ago, I had purchased a Columbia BF phonograph designed to play, Columbia Twentieth Century Talking Machine Records. Which as you know are six inches in length. Despite the fact they were only made between 1905-1908. Also, adding to the fact, not knowing how many survived? They don’t come up for sale very often on eBay, but when they do, the go quick. Vulcan records used to produce modern versions of these, but have ceased producing them.
I would love to own one!

They’re out there, but usually moldy, and also usually with boring content. Try for a reproduction, by Vulcan or those by Norman Bruderhofer.
This very long thread, on how we made a reproduction that actually has a tune worth listening to, may be interesting to you as well:

The last time I checked the Vulcan website, they were out of stock.PeterF wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 9:04 pm They’re out there, but usually moldy, and also usually with boring content. Try for a reproduction, by Vulcan or those by Norman Bruderhofer.

Yeah, the typical way is to get folks to commit to buying them before running out a batch.
Maybe it’s time to make a second selection with Norman, if he’s still got the stomach for it. The Barnacle Bill (Hoagy and Bix) dub that we did together turned out really well.

Okay! So, I got lucky and found a Columbia six inch Talking Machine cylinder record, off of eBay for $149.00. It is in great shape judging from the photos. No mold, or cracks. The song is Rose Marie. The lid doesn’t match the record, but what else is new! I’m just happy to have finally found one.

I am most definitely ready to commit to purchasing a copy (possibly more) of any second release that you and Norman could come up with on this format. The Barnacle Bill one did indeed turn out great!PeterF wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 9:30 pm Yeah, the typical way is to get folks to commit to buying them before running out a batch.

I have an empty box for one.I've seen those Twentieth Century Columbia cylinders up at Tim Fabrizio 's shop. And,many years ago in an antique store I saw a Dictaphone shaver and I vaguely remember seeing a few of those cylinders. One was an Uncle Josh title.Cal Stewart made a few of those.edisonplayer.
