Tinfoil phonograph needle and diaphragm

How do you make a working diaphragm and needle for a tinfoil phonograph out of household materials? I am experimenting with making a machine based off of no direct machine and need I help with it. I do not have access to lathes for buffing the needle or any way to solder the needle so I am trying to find alternatives.
