Wanted Hexaphone 104 half nut drive bracket

Post by Kiwi »

Wanted
Hexaphone 104 drive half nut bracket.
The drive keeps skipping and this bracket was straightened a little but isn’t correct.
I would be interested in an original half nut bracket ( the half nut seems ok) or a picture showing the correct angle of the bracket. I would appreciate any help.
Thank you
Tony

Hi
If it skips it might be tightness in the horn coupling or lube on travel rod or the needle. Wyatt is taking orders for needles. I can get a picture of mine if you need it.

Hi,
Just thinking outside the box, but if the bend was not in the right place, it could cause the ½ nut to not properly engage the feed screw. I've only worked on one Hexaphone so can't advise where the bend should be. And just remembered, the reproducer to horn coupling had a rubber connector so it had almost no stiffness in its travel.

Thank you for your thoughts.
I had it running without the horn connected and it didn’t grip properly on the feed screw you could feel it when it was engaged into the thread but not far enough. When it gets tension on the reproducer return spring it skips.
And the adjustment screw wouldn’t help.
Barry thank you for your information I will be working on that. And bend the bracket to suit.
At some stage it’s been a replacement half nut bracket and I think the material is to light.
I appreciate your comments.
Otherwise the machine seems in good order.

No insult intended, but is the ½ nut mounted in the correct direction? It is a buttress type thread .
