VV 8-9 victrola on FaceBook

Post by HMVDevotee »

This isn't mine and I've not seen it, but I thought I would post this because I believe this model is somewhat rare. I believe it has a metal folded horn, but perhaps some of you Victor guys could provide more information. $250

Wow, a total steal at 250$. I have one of these and it truly sounds amazing. I paid a lot more for mine. In my humble opinion, it’s one of the best looking Victoria cabinets.

I agree about the cabinet's appearance. Having heard similar remarks about the sound quality, I looked for one of these for years but ended up with one of the big HMV re-entrants instead. Believe me, if I had the room, I would have already bought this!

If I were closer it would be mine and I would sell mine. This one is a very nice example. Sadly, Memphis, TN to Anderson, SC is just too darn far.

Yes, it looks really nice. I have a Victrola VV-8-8 School Model less decorative in good condition. Same folded metal horn is used for 8-35, 8-8 and 8-9. I used to have HMV 193 which sounds similar to vv 8-8. Now I have HMV 202 which has the largest metal horn, which produces amazing sound.
$250 is nothing for this model.
