Street in Lithuania 1940

Post by Sidewinder »

I was watching a documentary of the Nazi invasion of Lithuania, and there was a street scene of people walking past at least 3 gramophone stores.

Very interesting. External horn machines must have been fairly dated in 1940, I wonder if they were being sold second-hand.

The gramophones were already old by 1940, and while I am no fashion expert the lady's outfit looks more 1920's than 1940.
I am sceptical of the film clips used in documentaries, and wonder whether for this one it was a case of "Anything pre-WW2 will do".

I suspect you are probably right!
