Fine-tuning a Triumph

The lever that lifts the reproducer carriage is very loose and floppy. I am sure before I took it apart it was stiff. Did I lose a spring or a washer?

The speed control turns very easily -- too easily I feel. Should there be a lock nut? Should I drop in a drop of Loc-tite?
