I saw that too. I believe the tone arm is a later style that has been flipped over for use in the back bracket. Notice the telltale nick in the gold plating, now visible on the underside of the arm, caused by the reproducer resting on the tone arm when not in use. To be fair, there is also a small nick, currently on the arm's topside, but I'm not certain that its location aligns with the reproducer rest position. Either way, a very nice arm, with great gold plating. The price however

The early Victor tone arms sorta bother me from a design standpoint for that exact reason. Wear from skin oils and handling is unavoidable, but wear from having two polished metal parts continuously knocking into each other instead of using a rest, suggests it was just a cost saving measure.
Makes me wonder how long it took before the exhibition reproducers wore through the lacquer and gold plating.
